all I want to do is exchange some legal tender for a car
but of course, this barn find of a 76k mile HB in the year and colour I want sounds too good to be true! maybe the seller is just an idiot?
I’ve clearly become quite uncivil with this tool. but... I if the car is good, he can have my money (with which I assume he will purchase and consume more meth)

I think there are a lot of reasons to nope out of that one. Seller is clearly inept and/or hiding something. Probably both. Also “light frame damage” from a “fender bender” that “will only be $500 to fix” is the body work equivalent of “ac just needs charged.”

Only to be devils advocate, potential buyers on CL are more flaky than a fresh croissant. Trying to sell my a4 on CL, I replied to about 20 potential people who said they would show. I sold it to the first one who came around with cash.
But I also know sellers can be just as annoying. I think the general CL population is well bellow the average IQ

A CV shaft can click for literally years before they bust. I put on 35,000 miles, all of the abusive with a clicking CV shaft on my 91 hatch.

hell I love all 90s hatchback civics, hell i even had 2 a 1991 and a 1997,

True, have had on start clicking on my coupe and I just left it for 3 months until I got annoyed. And in the texts he said it started click recently. So its probably drive able.
But I mainly read the Ad and in the ad it doesnt explicitly say the car moves and it says its missing plastic bits. That lead me to believe that the Axle started whipping around and breaking plastic stuff.
Also all of this over an auto-tragic. If it was a manual I say hop on it, auto isnt worth it.

Here is an idea for a car, though the manual part might be an issue but no time like the present to learn. Also one thing I didnt put in my last post is it super sketchy for him not to just do the CV shaft. And not let you buy the car then charge you to put a new one in.
